Home to Belize's most prestigious natural treasure, the world's second largest barrier reef at roughly 180 miles/298 kilometers in length, located just off it's eastern shore, Ambergris Caye is a true diver's heaven . The Reef crest is well defined by a conspicuous line of breaking water that is clearly visible from the shore at a low tide, Staghorn and Elkhorn coral can even be seen protruding above the surface . Over 35 of Belize's most spectacular dive sites are within close proximity and are accessible by boat via a series of natural channels that traverse the reef crest to the open water beyond.

PADI's Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world, is your ticket to a lifetime of intense underwater adventures.
Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will also earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is recognized worldwide. You earn this rating by completing five confined water dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives, all done around the wonderful Belizean reef in the Caribbean Sea, in 3 1/2 to 4 days.
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certificate. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
Course Details; classroom instruction, four confined water practice sessions, and four open water dives.
Knowledge Development Sessions
The class is broken down into 5 modules. Each scuba module consists of a video, lecture, knowledge review and quiz. The more study you do, reading the manual and completing the knowledge reviews then the less time you will have to spend in the classroom and more time underwater. After these academic sessions are all complete, you will have a final scuba exam.
Confined Water Practice Sessions
The confined water practice sessions are also broken down into 5 modules. With all modules taking place in the special area we have cordoned off at the side of our dock. With each new skill you learn, the more comfortable you will become with scuba and breathing underwater. There is also a short swim test and survival float.
Open Water sessions
During the Open Water Dives, we use all of the scuba information and skills that you have mastered during the theory and confined water sessions. The dives will take place on two separate days with a maximum of two dives on each day. Here you will demonstrate the skills that you learned in the pool and also have the opportunity to take an underwater tour of San Pedro's beautiful Caribbean Sea from a whole new angle.
